Top 4 NCAAF Pre-New Year Bowl Games

Every time you think about the bowl season, the first thing that comes to your mind is spending endless hours watching Louisiana state tigers college football on the first day of the Year. However, here are some of the probably best games that will happen before the New Year:

Holiday Bowl: Baylor Bears at UCLA Bruins [-2]

We can say that anything that involves a game with the Baylor Bears is most likely interesting. The Bears can put up points and can quickly give them back. The Bears have ranked 5th averaging 44.1 points per games but only ranked 117th in points allowed with an average of 38.2 points. The Baylor Bears stands with a record of 4-1 including a 3 consecutive wins when they went to San Diego.

It is depressing that the UCLA Bruins didn't scored a spot of the Rose Bowl because of their 27-24 loss against Stanford last Saturday which was their second straight loss against the Cardinals. However, looking at their previous matchups, UCLA scored 5 straight wins and have covered 4-3 ATS in their 7 previous games. The teams will face each other on December 27 at Qualcomm Stadium.

Pinstripe Bowl: West Virginia Mountaineers at Syracuse Orange [+4]

Syracuse is considered the best team in college football. They accomplished the season with 3 consecutive wins among 5 out of 6 in their previous games which got them a spot in a postseason game. The offense of the oranges went back up, thus they now average 35.8 points during their last six matches and having a 5-1 ATS.

QB Ryan Nassib will attempt to defeat the Mountaineers' signal-caller Geno Smith on Dec. 29. Smith and the team had look forward for bigger goals over the pre-New Year's Day bowl last fall. However, WVU managed to get back on their feet by winning the last two games ATS and SU.

Alamo Bowl: Texas Longhorns at Oregon State Beavers [-1.5]

The Longhorns were planning to get a spot on a bigger bowl but unfortunately, lost 2 games against TCU and Kansas State. Texas failed to get back on the losses they had and got 2-6 ATS in the last eight games they had. RB Joe Bergeron should be back from his shoulder injury and should be playing for the Longhorns this Dec. 29.

The Beavers had trouble during the second half of the season when the competition got stronger. Oregon State was beaten by Oregon but took all the frustration they had on a 77-0 win against Nicholls State.

LSU Tigers at Clemson Tigers [+3.5]

Louisiana state tigers may have a hard time in the pre-New Year's day match while holding the hopes for a BCS title. However, the Bayou Bengals seems to be interested in the final match of the season passing over Arkansas and Ole Miss by failed to cover the spread for every win.

Also the Clemson Tigers are also a bit disappointed their spot in the Bowl. Clemson almost got a spot in the BCS bowl; however they suffered a loss against South Carolina in the last game of the season thus shattering their spot.
